How common is neuroblastoma?
Neuroblastoma is the most common cancer in infants who are less than 1 year old. There are about 600 to 800 new cases of neuroblastoma each year in the United States.
Who is most affected by neuroblastoma?
The average age of children when they are diagnosed is about 1 to 2 years. Rarely, neuroblastoma can be detected before birth by ultrasound. Most neuroblastomas are diagnosed by age 5. It is rare in people over the age of 10 years.
